Real Madrid score 10 - become first top European side to hit double figures in THIRTY years

A scoreline of 10-2 is the type of nonsense usually reserved for amateur football. It's the sort of result you normally only get in a game where one team has turned up with eight hungover players, ready to take a severe kicking.
It is not the type of outcome you ever expect to see in a match involving one of the world's greatest football teams, played in one of the world's finest leagues.
And yet, here we are. Real Madrid just walloped Rayo Vallecano 10-2. THEY SCORED TEN GOALS!
A team reaching double figures in a top-flight match is the Holy Grail. Man Unitedcame close against Ipswich in 1995 (9-0). Tottenham almost reached the landmark against Wigan in 2009 (9-1). But no Premier League team has ever achieved this mythical feat.
In fact, to give you some idea of the unique nature of Real Madrid's goalscoring feat,we've looked at the last time a top-flight team scored 10 goals in each of Europe's top leagues.
